6/10 Build an Original Business

10 Tips from 10 Years in Business

#6 Build an original business

There is only one you.

No one else is walking around here with your perspective, personality and experiences. No one else has your ideas, your expertise and your intuition.

If you spend time trying to make your business like someone else’s, you will miss the opportunity to build something unique.

I knew from the beginning of building The Stone Foundation, that my values had to be a part of the equation. I had seen too much of what unethical choices and a lack of best practices could do.

I wanted a place that felt like “family”. It was important that my clients felt safe and confident that we operated with compassion and excellence. Anyone associated with my business had to feel like they were a part of something that really makes a difference in people’s lives. That’s what worked for me.

What about you?

You are living an original life and you can build an original business.

It doesn’t have to be only about competition and a singular focus on the bottom line. You can be beautiful in business…demonstrating a commitment to personal development and really making a contribution to the lives of others. Let your values be evident in your business dealings.

Businesses are better when they are infused with the values, vision and passion of their leaders. You get to choose the kind of business you will have.

Trailblazers don’t have templates. Be willing to build a business that is a unique reflection of who you are and be brave enough to build something that will have a big impact on people. Let your authentic self shine.
